Change mindset

When I hear or see this word... I will flashback to all of my personal and professional journey.

I think we are all will have this period in every step of life such as :
- When we graduate from High School and enter the college life
- When we graduate from College and enter the working life
- When we enter the marriage life
- When we have child
etc...

Whether we could change our mindset or not and how we handle it, will show our maturity level. We could see the person who enter the working life however he/she still show the college attitude.

In my professional life, I have several experience with the reorganization in my division and each person show different attitude and mindset to face this changing.

In my experience, people reluctant to change their mindset especially if their personal goal or life has been impacted. However how they express their mindset will show their maturity.
If they are mature enough they will step back, see the impact and embrace the change and finally put the extra effort to ensure the change run smoothly.
If not, they will show negative attitude, be a blocker, and/or negative thinking

How to handle this situation if you have team with "Reluctant Change Mindset"? I share my experience with this kind of person.
Communicate professionally with them honestly what is your expectation and inform them that you will do the regular checking/monitoring/coaching. This is to show them that you are willing to assist them in this transition period and indirectly told them they we will monitor them.
Do the regular "Pulse-Check" the situation so they will feel that this change is important and they need to embrace it.
If they talk about the past, just listen however communicate gently told them that the situation urgently needed to change.
This is my practice, to overcome the issue.. however the result is not instant result as this is the delicate situation especially if this is culture change.

At the end, sometimes you need to also emphasize that the world is changing therefore people who are within this world need to embrace the change otherwise we will go "under the feet"
